 SANDY BEACH RESORT

 LOCATION : PANTAI CHENANG, LANGKAWI
CLIENT : SANDY BEACH RESORT OWNER (MR. AZLAN)
 PROJECT SIZE : 5270 SQFT

The Sandy Beach Resort, ideally located on Cenang Beach in
Langkawi, is famed for its pristine white sands, crystal clear waters,
and stunning sunsets, making it a perfect spot for sunbathing and
relaxation. Situated close to a vibrant mix of restaurants, bars, ho-
tels, souvenir shops, and duty-free outlets, the resort ensures guests
have easy access to a variety of amenities both day and night.

Recently, the privately owned resort operator engaged my interi-
or design firm to undertake a refurbishment project for their nearly
two-decade-old resort. The client specified the need for upgrades
that align with the standards of a typical 3-Star hotel, focusing on
the resort rooms and a hotel lounge. The refurbishment was to be mi-
nor, involving no structural changes, yet comprehensive in scope.

Our tasks included replacing the plaster ceilings and downlights, “Sandy Beach Resort strategically located at the

piping, and water heater systems. The designated areas also re-
ceived a fresh color scheme along with new furniture and fittings.

02 half, transforming the resort into a vibrant, contemporary space
The project was completed in approximately a month and a
tailored to accommodate the needs of short-stay guests. One
significant challenge we faced was managing the supply of re-
sources, as we had to import materials via sea and air freight. The
logistical difficulties resulted in costs that were up to 300% over the
client’s initial budget, underscoring the complexities of undertak-
ing such projects on an island.
